BRIDGE STREET SCHOOL PLAYGROUND RENOVATION MEETINGS
Thursday January 30th at 3:30 and Monday, February 3rd at 6:30. The Bridge St School playground is a a well used playground by the BSS students, Ward 3 families and the Northampton community. For years parents and staff have been trying to find a way to improve upon what is mostly a barren ground for the kids to play on, but there has not been any money in the school district to do this. Last Spring we found out about changes to the CPA grant that allows for rehabilitation for existing playgrounds.
Since then we have gathered information about what might work as a playing surface, as we were advised that grass is not a sustainable option. We have been working with Berkshire Design Group and now have an architectural design plan that uses a poured in place rubberized ground cover.
We are gathering signatures and letters of support and will also need to fundraise to meet this goal. We hope that the people of the city of Northampton realize what a wonderful opportunity this is to give a well used and loved playground a much needed overhaul and will help us to accomplish this.
There will be two meetings for the public to attend to find out more about this project and ask questions: Thursday January 30th at 3:30 and Monday, February 3rd at 6:30.
We hope to see you there!
